Distribution list
Hi,
I have a question about distribution lists: If I select users with resource access, I only get the single users that were added to a resource. If users have access because I added a group, they will not added to the distribution list.
Is this intended? Because this is not the behaviour that I expected, I would expect all users with access regardless of how they got it.
Thanks in advance
Dominik

Hello Dominik,
Yes, this is the intended behavior. Currently, only users who have been granted direct access, either individually or through an active request, are included in the distribution list when “Include users listed in resource access” is enabled.
Users who gain access via a group, department, organization, project, or community are not shown in this list. This approach keeps the list manageable and focused on explicitly added users. Including all indirectly associated users could make the list unnecessarily large and harder to interpret.
Would you suggest we change this behavior to include all users with effective access? Or would it be better to reword the option label to make this limitation clearer?
Best regards,

Hello Julia,
I understand the intention to keep the list small although I don't see the point to make a distinction between users with explicit access and users with implicit access via membership to a group.
And how am I able to get a list of all users that could use a resource in case I want to contact them? Maybe I overlooked it but in OpenIRIS I have not found a way to do that. Admin -> Users behaves the same way
A rewording would help me at least, but maybe I am the only one who mistakes this wording.
