Feature Request: Add "Year" Option to Resource Usage Limit Restriction
Hello OpenIRIS team,
We are using the Resource Usage Limit restriction located under Booking Restrictions → Resource Usage Limit to allocate microscope usage time to some research groups.
Currently, when configuring a usage limit, the available calendar-based periods are day, week, and month, but there is no option for year.
In our microscopy facility, instrument access is allocated on an annual basis for few teams on a hourly reservation quota . For example, a research group may receive 1,419 hours per year on a microscope. Because a yearly period is not available, we must convert this allocation into a monthly limit (approximately 118.25 hours/month), which is not ideal because it prevents users from distributing their allocated time flexibly throughout the year.
Would it be possible to add a "Year" option to the calendar-based period settings of the Resource Usage Limit booking restriction?
This would allow facilities to:
Allocate annual quotas directly.
Give users flexibility in how they use their allocated time throughout the year.
Reduce manual tracking and administrative work.
Alternatively, if there is already a way to configure annual/hourly quotas using existing features, I would be very interested in learning about it.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Tudor Manoliu
