The Provider is the structure that makes resources available. For example, a technological platform (e.g. microscopy, cytometry, room management service, etc.).
The Group corresponds to a team in the general sense (research team, support team, platform team). Billing is based on the team. The Group can be structured into departments/institutes within your organization. Each Group is made up of people who can be added to People.
Provider users will also be affiliated with groups (often research teams).
If you create a Provider (e.g. Cytometry Platform), you need to define a Group which includes staff (e.g. Cytometry Staff).
To answer your question, you need to create the Provider and add shared resources, and also create a Group including the personnel in your platform.

Thanks for your explanation, I understand better now. However, you say that the group can be the institute, but there is a departments/institutes category. Does this mean that the institute is the location and the group is the institute staff?

Sorry, my sentence wasn't clear and I'm not sure I understand the question. What I meant was that People belong to a Group and Groups are attached to a Department, which represents the Organization. This is how the Groups are structured in your Organization. Groups can therefore be research groups or staff groups within your Organization. The category is called Department/Institute to correspond to the different organizations of Institutes/Universities. Indeed, some institutes/universities are organized with departments, while others are not.

Thank you for your answer, i haven't understandf everything about he place of my plateform (TechnoSport) in my institut (UMR AMU-CNRS 7287 - Institut des Sciences du Mouvement) in my organisation (Aix-Marseille University).
It's really clear about the group and the plateform, with really interesting functions, but not about institut and organisation. I have created the institut opn the website but i'm alone in and i think this is not my role to manage this, is there a referent in lmy university or instut for the openiris project?
Thank you so mutch, and sorry for my bad english and explainaitions.
